I. Applicant Eligibility

1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens.

2. Be law-abiding, physically and mentally healthy, and of good academic caliber and conduct.

3. Academic qualifications and age requirements:

· Applicants for master's degree studies must have a bachelor's degree and be under the age of 35.

· Applicants for doctoral degree studies must have a master's degree and be under the age of 40.

Chinese-Taught Programs

At   the time of application, Chinese proficiency must be at least HSK Level 4   (score 180 or above). Applicants who have obtained a degree from a Chinese   university using Chinese as the medium of instruction are exempt from   submitting HSK certificates.

English-Taught Programs

TOEFL iBT 68 or above, or IELTS 5.5 or   above, or Duolingo English Test 85 or above. Exemption from submitting   English proficiency certificates: Applicants whose native language/official   language is English.



II. Scholarship Coverage and Standards

1. Exemption from registration fee, tuition fee, and accommodation fee.

2. Provision of living allowance.

3. Provision of comprehensive medical insurance.

VI. Application Procedure

1. Log in to the CSUST International Student Online Application System at https://csust.17gz.org/member/login.do, create a personal account, and upload the required documents.

Please submit the following application materials in the system:

1 Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (filled in Chinese or English).

2 Passport homepage (passport must be valid after September 2026).

3Notarized highest education certificate (original scan and translation). If the applicant is currently a student, they must submit a Pre-graduation Certificate or Study Certificate issued by their current school (indicating expected graduation date). Certificates obtained overseas must be notarized. Certificates obtained in China need only provide a copy.

4Academic transcripts (starting from undergraduate level). Scanned transcripts should include undergraduate and, if applicable, master's studies, up to the most recent semester. Transcripts should be issued and sealed by the Academic Affairs Office, Graduate School, or relevant student administration department of the attending institution. Transcripts in Chinese/English are acceptable. If the transcript is in a language other than Chinese or English, a notarized English translation is required.

5Study or Research Plan in China (written in Chinese for Chinese-taught programs, in English for English-taught programs, minimum 1000 words). The content should include at least: Introduction, Research Questions, Literature Review, Research Methodology, Expected Conclusions, and References (This is a key part of the evaluation, please pay attention).

6Two academic recommendation letters from professors or associate professors, written in Chinese or English.

7Foreigner Physical Examination Form, must be completed in English. The physical examination results are valid for 6 months (Blank form and instructions can be found in Attachment 2).

8Non-criminal record certificate. Applicants must submit a valid Non-criminal Record Certificate issued by the local public security authority, usually dated within 6 months prior to the submission date of the application.

9Chinese or English language proficiency certificate.

· Applicants for Chinese-taught programs need to submit an HSK score report. Exemption applies to those who obtained a degree from a Chinese university using Chinese as the medium of instruction.

· Applicants for English-taught programs need to submit TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo score reports (Exemption for applicants whose native language/official language is English).

10Academic publications or achievements, certificates of awards in cultural/sports activities, etc.

11Applicants under the age of 18 must submit relevant legal documents of their legal guardian in China.

2. Document Review: After receiving the application, CSUST will review the applicant's documents. Applicants who meet the requirements will pass the preliminary review.

3. Applicants who pass the preliminary review are required to pay the application fee of 500 RMB.

4. Academic Review: The relevant academic schools/colleges will conduct an academic review of applicants who have passed the preliminary review.

5. Entrance Assessment: Applicants who pass the academic review will participate in a unified entrance assessment, which includes language and basic subject ability tests.

6. Applicants who pass CSUST's review and the entrance assessment and receive the Pre-admission Notice must, before the specified deadline, log in to the CSC Online Application System for International Students in China (http://www.campuschina.org), register, and create a personal account; complete the online application according to the website instructions. CSUST Institution Code: 10536. Program Category: Type B.


Note:

· The above materials must be provided in Chinese or English. Certificates and transcripts must be notarized copies.

· The application fee is non-refundable, regardless of the admission result.

· Please DO NOT send any hard copies of application documents to the university by post.

· After submitting your application, please check your application system and email regularly for updates.
